Clean and sustainable beauty is a trend that, luckily, has come to stay. Victoria Beckham now explains why she loves it so much.
I really wanted to know what was in the products that I was using and what was in the products that my daughter was using,” says ex Posh Spice.
Owner of her own beauty line that distances itself from other beauty lines not only because Victoria has been a fashion and pop-culture icon for decades, but also because it is designed with sustainable and luxurious ingredients – Victoria Beckham Beauty or VBB is here to stay.
VBB started with a collection of eye products and has grown to include lip products, skincare and antiaging products too. Unlike other lines, its jars and tubes are sustainable and its ingredients clean, but they still have a luxurious feel.
When asked whether the world of makeup would be affected by the pandemic, she answered:
I wear makeup to feel good about myself. I want to feel empowered, I want to feel like the best version of myself. I mean, wearing a mask doesn't stop me from wearing my lipstick, you know?"
Beckham believes that wearing makeup is practicing self care, as she states:
I don't wear makeup for other people I really do wear it for myself, it makes me feel good. Even if I go to the gym, I like to make sure that I've got my skincare on, I've got a bit of lipstick on, and I've got my mascara on. Even when I'm having a non-makeup day, I like to make a bit of an effort because that's just how I am."
Sustainability is a number one priority for Victoria
The products are packaged in glass, with minimal plastic, are shipped using recyclable and biodegradable material and orders are delivered in a reusable pouch. All the ingredients comply with the European Commission standard of clean and non-toxic and the line is entirely cruelty-free. Regarding the formulas she chose, she states that
When I started doing research, I really wanted to know what was in the products that I was using, what was in the products that my daughter was using, and it was very much a gray area. I think what we're putting on our faces is very important."
She also makes clear that while it is challenging to make a clean, sustainable line possible, she is completely committed and proud of her products.
