Kayla Itsines claims everything she has achieved is by luck. She never imagined that by posting her pictures on social media accounts, her life would change dramatically.
The 29-year-old Australian-born personal trainer might be like many of her fellow professionals, but Instagram made her the creator of the largest female fitness community in the world, with more than 12 million followers.
Her training methods, which promise results in 12 weeks, have become a viral phenomenon. There are millions of women who have followed her advice to achieve a body worthy of any beach.
She says that when she started using Instagram she thought that no one would see the photos she was uploading. It was a formula to keep them in order. What's more, she reached her hundredth follower without realizing it. When her friends told her what she had accomplished, she didn't even know what a follower was.
When did she start?
Her adventure began in 2008 when she did a personal trainer course at the Australian Institute of Fitness. After graduating she decided to dedicate herself exclusively to female training. "I realized that the methods they taught me weren't giving the results my clients wanted," she recalls.
"Before I knew it, I developed cardio exercises and techniques, mixed with nutritional planning that achieved certain results: a confidence bikini body, a confident body in a bikini," says Kayla in an interview.
Seeing the achievements, she decided to leave the fitness center where she was working and founded her own company, dedicated exclusively to women. Bikini Body Guide workouts, as its methodology is known, do not need more equipment.
They can be done at home or in a park. It is a 28-minute high-intensity resistance training, with the subsequent recovery session, stretching, and cooling down. All this accompanied by a healthy diet.
Now Kayla has become a true social media expert. She has a website and mobile app, both translated into multiple languages, where you can download your e-books. The e-books detail the training and diet plans to change the body through a healthy life.
