The model and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who is engagedto the Hollywood actor Jason Statham, revealed in an interview with The Sunday Times Style magazine that she follows an intermittent fasting diet. She explained that she eats all her food for the day during an "8-to-10 hour window"
What is the intermittent fasting diet?
This diet has two different patterns:
- The first is eating just 500 calories two days per week, and eating normally the other five days.
- The second option is to do 14, 16, or 18 hours of fasting, leaving you from a six to ten-hour window to eat in.
This diet has grown in popularity in recent years as a result of the success of the 5:2 diet for losing weight.
Rosie starts her day with an oat milk matcha latte at 8 am. Then she does all her daily meals but trying to finish by 6 pm: "Then I try to finish eating between 4 pm and 6 pm. It gives my body a chance to digest everything." she said. However, if she has an event, she shifts her eating window back slightly, breaking her fast later in the day: “Of course, if I’m going out for dinner, I shift it to later. I’m flexible. You’ve got to live.” she added.
While practicing this diet, she also follows a strict fitness routine that includes going to the gym at 9 am to do yoga, Pilates, or cardio. “I’m always active – my mum was an aerobics instructor when I was young and she was always encouraging my siblings and me to be sporty,” she said in an interview. Although she has to stay in shape because of her career, she admits she loves exercising so she tries to train as much as she can depending on her mood or schedule.
