Diet and exercise: Danny Trejo shows how to reach at 76 with a healthy body

Danny Trejo shares his diet and exercise routine. The Mexican-born actor is a true celebrity after an extensive acting career.

The actor maintains a passion for good food, he owns a chain of restaurants, Trejo's Tacos, where he gives work to young people who like him have gone through hardships.

In addition, Danny Trejo has his own brand of Mexican beer and has published a book with dozens of Mexican recipes that include gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan proposals. Danny Trejo is passionate about healthy food.

"In the morning, I usually have a full but healthy breakfast. It's usually scrambled eggs. I'll add soy, so it's not fatty. Everything is seasoned with peppers, onions, spinach and feta cheese. I don't eat fast food, although I do recognize that my favorite dish is roast beef nachos with two eggs on top. A dinner I love is a couple of chicken breasts with garlic, rice and vegetables. I wouldn't say I'm a health nut, but I've always tried to take care of myself.

As for Danny Trejo's training routine, the actor acknowledges that he no longer trains as he used to, which doesn't mean he's given up.

"About five years ago, a lot of people started to recognise me, and it was very difficult to go to the gym. So I set up a little gym at my house. I have a treadmill, a bicycle, and a complete weight set. I also have a bench press and all the time in the world right now, so I usually do pec exercises in the morning, and arm exercises in the afternoon. The next day I train my lower body and my back. I alternate.

The actor maintains that exercise is necessary to stay healthy, nowadays walking is the most important thing for him.

"I have five dogs, and I walk them each for 20 minutes to get some exercise.
