Halloween is almost here, and here we have undoubtfully this fall's signature drink apple cider.
If like me, you got a little bit tired of craft beer, you could start giving apple cider a chance this fall.
Cider is gluten-free, so it's a good choice for those who are not tolerant to it. There didn't use to be so many varieties available but nowadays you can find quiet, hard and spiced ciders all over the world.
What is it made of?
Cider is basically fermented apple juice. All you need is apple juice to be added to a tank made of stainless still or oak and the test will convert all the sugars of the juice into ethanol and in two weeks cider should be ready.
Then the liquid is passed through a filter to remove the yeast, then you obtain the classified crisp cider.
There are also other varieties including pineapples, grapes or even berries -this creates a complex cider.
Why is it a good option?
Unlike beer, which is made of wheat, cider is made with apples -so it can be drunk by those who are wheat-intollerant. Cider is the perfect drink for an apple pie or a pumpkin soup -perfect for the fall!
