A winged liner or cat eyeliner can be tricky if you have hooded eyes, but don’t worry! Here we have some tips for you to have the perfect look without having to redo your makeup every time you blink!
Let’s face it if you don’t practice enough, applying the perfect liner can be difficult to master… a blink of the eye, and you have to remove it and start all over again. If you have hooded eyes, and you lack the surgeon’s steady hand, this might be a little bit difficult. But if you make a few adjustments to your application, you can definitely master the art of eyeliner.
1. Sketch the shape
You can start by sketching out the eyeliner shape you want to. Take a simple pencil and hold it in line with your nose and the corner of your eye and angle it towards the eyebrow. From the tail of your brow to the corner of your eye, and the side of your nose should form the perfect angle. Keep your eye as relaxed as possible, to get the idea of what it would look like when you go about your day.
2. Use concealer to clean the liner up
Now that you’ve outlined the shape, you can sharpen the edges with a bit of concealer or using makeup remover and a small brush.
3. The liquid liner
Once you’ve outlined the shape, go over the shape with liquid eyeliner for a deeper color and long-lasting makeup. You can even use black eyeshadow and setting spray, fill in any area where the pencil missed.
4. The lash line
Once your wing shape is as you want it to be, you can connect it to your lash line. Extend the line across the lash line to the inner corner of your eye. You can dry creating small dashes that you can connect for a more controlled application. And that’s it!
A good idea for hooded eyes is to elongate the wing to make your eye look bigger and awake. You won’t get it right away, but practice makes perfect, keep some cotton swabs on hand until you’ve mastered the application!
