If you want to show off your perfect locks this summer, take note of the do's and don'ts to keep it soft and frizz-free. Read on to find out.
Going to the beach means taking care of our hair three times over. It is exposed to the sun, the wind, the seawater, and the chlorine in the pool that are the culprits of dryness and frizz. But all is not lost, next, we will tell you what you should and not do so that your hair looks on point in the summer.
What you should do:
1. Deep hydration:
The first step is to keep your hair hydrated and you can achieve this by using masks and conditioners at least once a week. It is a way to quickly remove the salts that dry it out and make it rough.
2. From face to hair:
Just as sunscreen is essential on the skin, it is also essential for the hair and even more so if you usually apply dyes constantly. Use a protective hair spray before and after each beach day and load it in your bag to touch up several times while you are in the sand. Use a hat when sunbathing or sightseeing to protect your scalp.
3. Change your hair routine:
It is important that you take special care on these occasions. Before going out in the sun, apply a little serum or anti-humidity spray. Also, try to brush it constantly with a wooden comb that will avoid frizz and when you get to the beach, wash your hair with plenty of cold water to seal the cuticles and show off a perfect straight hair.
TIP: If you will be spending hours in the sun, protect your hair with hats and caps to prevent further abuse.
What you shouldn't do:
1. Goodbye heat tools!:
If you normally get dry and frizzy hair, imagine when you are in higher temperatures. Forget using straighteners or blow dryers these days and take advantage of styling creams that will leave you with natural and beautiful waves.
2. Avoid products with ammonia or alcohol:
It is very important to check that all the hair products that you take to the beach do not contain these ingredients, since when exposed to constant heat and humidity, they will mistreat your hair much more than you think.
3. Forget about fast food:
You probably want to enjoy zero nutritious meals on vacation and have a little more fun, but think twice. Your hair will not be able to nourish itself from the roots and when you return from your break, you will regret it. Stick to the 80-20 rule with a well-balanced diet and occasional treats.
