How to use aloe vera to have healthy shiny hair

Aloe vera for silky shiny hair: 2 beauty uses you didn't know about

Aloe vera has many properties that are beneficial to us... But did you know that it is excellent for your hair as well? We share two haircare uses that you didn't know about.

Aloe vera as a miracle worker

Aloe vera is has been used for its healing properties for centuries, it grows in all environments and you can easily grow your own at home. It contains around 75 active components: vitamins, enzymes, minerals, sugars, lignin, saponins, salicylic acids, and amino acids among others.

The gel of its leaves, which is easily scooped out, is used to smooth skin wounds and burns, it has amazing health properties when eaten, and can actually be included in your hair care routine.

When applied to your hair, it calms itchy scalp and flaking skin –as the fatty acids in the aloe vera plant have anti-inflammatory effects– and it removes oil residues from other hair products while preserving the integrity of your hair.

How to include aloe vera in your hair care routine

1. Use it as a mask

Aloe Vera is super useful to treat dry and damaged hair because it contains vitamins A, C, and E–as they contribute to cell turnover, promoting healthy cell growth and healthy hair. It is also rich in vitamin B12 and folic acid this will prevent hair loss as well

To use aloe vera as a mask keep the gel extracted from an Aloe leaf and massage it into your hair. Leave on for 30 minutes. Then rinse it out as usual. This will strengthen your hair, and prevent the scalp from drying out and treat the itching. It is also beneficial for those who dye their hair regularly.

2. Leave-on conditioner

In a spray bottle, mix Aloe Vera gel, olive oil, and Vitamin E oil. Spray the liquid over the hair roots and tips before drying your hair with a towel.

It's easier to extract aloe vera gel using a grater. Just cut the leaf in half lenghtwise and grate the gel side into a bowl.

This will help combat frizz, soothe and moisturize your scalp, and deeply hydrate your hair. Aloe contains a component similar to keratin, a protein found in hair cells, meaning it will add softness and elasticity to your locks.

Aloe vera has the incredible ability to increase blood circulation to an area. That’s part of why its properties are so unique when it comes to hair care. Give it a try and enjoy silkier hair in no time!
