Intermittent fasting consists in only eating during a specific time. Studies have found a slew of health benefits, from lower blood pressure to increased longevity.

Many experts agree that the main reason it may lead to weight loss is that having a smaller window of eating means you're likely to eat fewer calories.

In the last couple of years, it has become increasingly popular among Hollywood stars.

Here we have selected 5 celebs that are or were practicing intermittent fasting.

1- Reese Witherspoon

She wakes up early in the morning and drinks juice and coffee.

Witherspoon started practicing intermittent fasting in 2019 with her friend Jennifer Aniston.

She wakes up early in the morning and with a juice and coffee in hand, she is in fact a morning person. “I find it really hard to work out before 7:30 a.m. But that’s the time I start one: 7:30 am,” she said. “Probably do that six days a week.”

2- Kourtney Kardashian

Kourtney sticks to her health and wellness routine, which includes a keto diet.

Besides intermittent fasting, she is also doing a keto diet

“I love doing a keto diet, though I’m not doing it now. I noticed my body change for the better. I [also] love intermittent fasting. I try to do that all the time. Sometimes if I’ve had a normal day of eating and I’m pretty full, instead of having dinner, I’ll have some bone broth, especially if I’m not feeling well or starting to get sick.”

She added:  "I wouldn't eat past 7 p.m. at night and then I would wait to eat breakfast the next day until after my morning workout, which would be around 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m."

3- Terry Crews

Terry Crews is an actor and former NFL star that has been doing intermittent fasting for more than 6 years. In his own words: “the best way that I have found to do intermittent fast is to skip breakfast and eat from 2 pm to 10 pm. During the fasting period I’ll have coffee, maybe tea. Sometimes I’ll have a little bit of coconut oil on a spoon that makes you feel a little satiated. But it’s never a meal.”

4- Chris Pratt

For his role in Marvel movie Guardians of the galaxy, he needed to put himself in shape.

Benedict Cumberbatch lost a lot of weight in between his role as buff superhero Doctor Strange and the thin detective Sherlock Holmes.

He's on the 5:2 diet, which means two days a week he eats only about 500 calories or fewer. The other five, he's much less restricted.
