Yoga is great for countless reasons, it is good for your body and mind, and this particular yoga pose will help you soothe low back and hip pain.

Low back and hip pain can sometimes hinder your ability to function normally. But once again, yoga comes to the rescue. This pose is beginner-friendly and it will help you gain strength and flexibility.

The garland pose or malasana

This is an excellent exercise to stretch and tone your lower body. This posture can stretch the thighs, hips, groin and it can also open up the chest. 

It can help improve balance and as you are engaging your core it can even stimulate digestion. It is said to balance the root chakra and offers grounding properties. 

How to do the garland pose

Step 1:

Stand with your feet a little wider than the line of your hips and put your hands at the heart center.

Step 2:

Bend your knees and lower your body as if you were performing a squat.

Step 3:

Use your elbows inside your knees to push them open.

Make sure to keep your chest lifted, your shoulder blades relaxed, hips towards the ground and the spine in a straight line. 

Do some breathwork and stand back up, you can repeat it.
