When embarking on a witchy lifestyle, health should also be your number one priority. You can use your mind, body and a little bit of magick to transform your life!
As with everything in life, for you to be able to perform spells and set intentions, you have to be grounded. Being a healthy witch will help you make your spells stronger –mind, body and soul have to be aligned for the universe to listen to a clear signal. For example, if you’ve just had a magickal bath for self-love, but you eat highly processed food afterwards, or fail to hydrate your body, you are undoubtedly sending mixed signals to the universe –because you are definitely not loving your body.
How to be healthy in a witchy way
Water is fuel for our body, it is extremely necessary to stay hydrated. I love drinking moon water in the morning for a pinch of magick in morning. I also infuse water with different herbs to make drinking water a daily spell.
Fruits and vegetables are packed with antioxidants and are paramount to staying healthy. Instead of focusing on NOT EATING certain foods –this creates a scarcity scenario and can lead you to binge eating later–, try to focus on including more antioxidant-rich foods. Make your meals magickal, choose the ingredients wisely: buy locally and seasonally.
Try to exercise daily, it needn’t be a lot of time as long as you remain constant. You can try walking for 30 minutes every day. Use that time to reconnect with nature, breathe some fresh air, if you are near a park or any green area, notice the trees and the animals around you.
Sleeping is when the body rests and regenerates, depriving yourself of sleep will shorten your lifespan and affect your mood.
What you infuse your body with affects your body and soul. So be moderate when drinking, try not to smoke, and, while you can indulge in some sweets or junk food once now and then, don’t make it a habit.
You are whole
The body is not a vessel that holds the soul, it is actually entwined with our soul. Our aura surrounds our body is part of our soul, so staying healthy will help us stay spiritually healthy as well.
