We are waving the year of the Rat goodbye and welcoming the Ox, but what does that mean? What are the predictions for 2021?
With the arrival of the Chinese New Year we welcome the year of the Ox, we say goodbye to the turbulence of the year of the Rat, and although celebrations will be different this year, we are all hoping for a change this 2021, but what is it?
The origin of the Ox
The story tells that one of the most important Taoist Gods, the Jade Emperor, organized a race to choose his royal ward. The first 12 winners would be chosen, the Ox was the second to arrive, but it was supposed to be the first. The Rat tricked the Ox into giving it a ride on its back, but when they were getting to the finish line, the Rat jumped first.
Are you an Ox?
If you were born during 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, and 2009 you were born the year of the Ox –like Barack Obama, Princess Diana, Jack Nicholson, Meryl Streep, Issa Rae, Chrissy Teigen and Kylie Jenner.
Characteristics of Ox
If you were born in the year of the Ox you are reliable, fair, patient, methodical and you value your friends, you can, however, be a bit stubborn.
Predictions for this year
The Ox is traditionally an animal that would work on the fields, so the Year of the Ox is a period of hard work –but the good news is that it would be rewarded. You will be working harder than usual, but great opportunities will be presented to you –this is a good year to give your life goal a go. There will be no major disasters this year, typically, Ox years are calm, stable and maybe a bit boring –but that is exactly what we need after 2020.
