Salt is one of the most powerful ingredients for a modern witch, but why is it so magical? It is a pure substance made on earth or the sea –thus it carries the very essence of the water and earth elements, making salt extremely powerful.

The magickal properties of 6 types of salt

1. Sea salt

Sea salt is infused with all the power of the sea and the water element. It is an excellent element for purifying and protective spells and it is a great offering for deities and spirits of the sea.

Pink salt comes in chunky and powder form, it could be made into lamps and used for culinary purposes as well. It has been called the “purest salt on earth” because it has been maturing on the earth for over 250 million years. It is said to decalcify your pineal gland and opening your third eye. Himalayan pink salt is also great for self-love and romance and as it gets its pink color from the iron, it is awarding ingredient as well.

3. Black salt

Witches black salt is a powerful substance, but it is not edible –because it is made out of ashes and salt. You can use your firepit or herb bundle remnants. It is a protective and useful element for banishing, binding and performing reversal spells.

4. Kosher salt

The difference between regular salt and kosher salt is that the latter has been blessed by a Jewish rabbi. It is used in the process of drawing blood to meet, then it works well to absorb negativity.

5. Table salt

Table salt is just as effective as any other type, though it might not taste as good as other less processed salts. But if you don’t have anything else, using table salt to purify or protect is perfectly acceptable.

6. Hawaiian Black salt

Hawaiian Black salt is harvested from the evaporating water on the island of Molokai in Hawaii. It contains activated charcoal –thus the black color. It is super powerful!
