Crazy diets and dramatic calories are part of the past, now we know that we don’t need to restrict ourselves to be healthier, here are some tips to eat smart and forget about dieting!
Little by little, we have started to say goodbye to strict diets and low-calorie diets –we have leant to eat seasonally, locally and sustainably. If you try to cut off completely all the foods you used to eat, you are setting yourself up for failure, our brain cannot deal with all those changes –and our willpower fatigue will take over. Making a few adjustments a day at a time is much more effective and feasible, here’s how to!
- Instead of cutting out foods that are unhealthy, focus on including healthier options, it makes a whole lot of difference, as it won’t trigger feelings of guilt if you eat certain foods and you will decrease your binge eating.
Focus on including new foods, not on restricting yourself. - Start eating 10-a-10, if you haven’t heard of it, it involves eating ten varieties of plants a day, it could be fruits, veggies and herbs.
Include ten different plant-based ingredients a day. - Prep your meals smartly. If you don’t want to spend the whole Sunday prepping your week’s food because it makes you obsess over the foods you can’t eat, you can try often for 1 or 2 days ahead or even having some frozen vegetables will do.
