Almost every unbalance that your body suffers, is related to your food intake. Conscious decisions about what you eat can have a huge impact on the way you feel.
Overweight, cellulitis and high cholesterol are just some of the problems caused by poor eating habits, but they are the most common in our modern society. This is not magic, but with a little bit of effort and small changes in your eating habits, you will feel the difference in no time.
Overweight
What to avoid
- All kinds of sodas (regular and sugar-free)
- Synthetic juices
- Artificial sweeteners (aspartame, cyclamate, saccharin, etc.)
- Refined sugar and sweets
- White flour and bakery products
- Saturated fat (butter, cream, cold cuts, etc.)
- Fried food
- Eating very late at night or eating a very heavy dinner
What to choose
- Vitamins and minerals (seeds such as chia, flax, sesame, etc.)
- Raw vegetables (at least two servings per day)
- Fruits or almonds
- Proteins (meat, chicken, fish, eggs, tofu, legumes, etc.)
- Sweeteners such as stevia, muscovado sugar or honey
- Whole flour. It has the same calories as white flour, but it is not as addictive
- Eating every two or three hours to avoid eating more than what you need
High cholesterol
What to avoid
- Dairy products such as milk, cream cheese, yoghurt, ice cream, etc.
- Animal fat, cold cuts, fried food, shrimp and prawns
- Anything that constipates you, to avoid reabsorption in the intestines
- Hydrogenated fat such as margarine, cookies, sweets and industrialized food
What to choose
- Olive oil, olives, almonds and avocado
- Sea fish
- Chia seeds
- Onion, alfalfa, and artichoke
- Raisins
Cellulitis
What to avoid
- White sugar, sweets, cookies and white flour.
- Preservatives and additives.
- Coffee and sodas.
- Excess of salt.
What to choose
- Water (at least 2 litres per day)
- Wheat cereals, brewer’s yeast, wheat germ and pumpkin seeds
- Chicken, fish, eggs, legumes and sunflower seeds
- Green vegetables, natural juices and proteins such as sea fish, chicken, egg whites and tofu.
- Almonds, nuts, hazelnuts, figs, dates, wheat cereals and organic soy.
