Do you struggle to stick to a meal plan? Have you tried batch cooking?

Many of us have little time for cooking, so we choose the easy option. Be it a delivery or a ready meal. If that is what's keeping you from following a healthy meal you should try batch cookng. A brilliant way of organizing everyday meals by spending little time in the kitchen.

With this organisational method we can reduce the amount of disposable plastic by preparing certain foods ourselves.

For example, you can make vegetable milks with Vegan Milker or yoghurts with a yoghurt maker or fermenter, milk and ferments and store them in glass containers with a minimum of time and zero waste.

To do this, you simply need to plan, buy all the ingredients and find an afternoon to cook.

By cooking extra portions and freezing them for later, you are guaranteed to have a healthy meal at hand when time is short or you simple don't feel like cooking. The best meals to freeze are stews, soups, sauces, curries and pies among others. Likewise, when cookign dinner, make an extra portion to use al lunch the following day. It's a great time-saver.

You can also chop all the fruit you like using for smoothies and freeze it in handy portions, so you can simply chuck everything into a blender upon need.

Beware, while almost all vegetables can be frozen, you may need to blanch them. So buying frozen veg at the local store may be handier.
