Reading food labels is something we all have to get used to. There are 4 ingredients listed in our essentials that nutritionists advise against, you have to avoid these preservatives when grocery shopping.

2. Carrageenan

3. Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)

3. Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)

If you read this on a label, don’t buy it. It is there to add flavor and mask the true taste of the food- it is partly manufactured chemicals and part glutamate –this combination can overexcite the nervous system and lead to headaches, migraines and inflammation. MSG is usually present in prepackaged, extra salty snacks.

4. Guar gum

Guar gum is found in dairy products, condiments, and baked goods

Guar gum is a by-product of the guar bean that may lead to gastrointestinal conditions such as increased gas and abdominal discomfort in general. So stay away from guar gum especially if you have any digestive issues.
