Turmeric for your skin: life-changing detox masks for all skin types

Turmeric is now widely used in a variety of skincare products, including moisturizers, face masks, and toners. The brightly-colored root is a miracle ingredient and you don't need to spend a fortune to use it! Try these homemade face masks and enjoy the glow.

Even small amounts of turmeric can fight free radicals and slow down the appearance of the signs of aging. Regular use, however, will transform your skin and prevent fine lines and wrinkles.

Turmeric improves skin tone, cleanses it, and unblocks the pores. It smoothes out fine lines, gives your skin an even tone, helps treat acne and other scars. What’s not to love?

Turmeric has been used for centuries thanks to its healing properties and its cosmetic functions. It gets its health benefits primarily because of curcumin, a bioactive component. Curcumin has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

These properties may provide glow and luster to the skin. Turmeric may also revive your skin by bringing out its natural glow.

The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory qualities of turmeric may help your psoriasis by controlling flares and other symptoms.

The National Psoriasis Foundation states that you can use it as a supplement or by adding it to food. Before you try it, the foundation recommends discussing the proper dosage with a professional.

Turmeric can also help with acne scarring, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties that can target your pores and calm the skin.

And this is not all. Turmeric has also be considered helpful with a range of diverse dermatological conditions, such as eczema, alopecia, lichen planus, and other skin issues. While there aren't many studies yet, research is being conducted and results seem to be promising.

Here are some masks that you can make at home to start including turmeric in your skincare routine.
