Some tips to complement your workout routine and your diet will help you slow down the aging process.
Slowing down the aging effect is not only about the workout and eating healthy food. We have to take care of our face and skin as well. Our face has at least 50 muscles we constantly move but do not exercise. Over time that causes losing tone and makes our face look older.
Experts propose including facial gymnastics in your training routine that will allow you to keep the muscles of the face firm and elastic. They will also correct sagging, activate circulation, and increase tissue oxygenation.
Since prevention is the best thing we can do for our body and skin, there are some basic exercises we can include in our routine. We should practice them slowly and calmly and trying to be aware of each movement and hold each exercise and each relaxation for at least 5 seconds. This is why the best time to practice these facial gymnastics is at night, thus relaxing the tension accumulated during the day.
Although we can start practicing twice a week, it is good to increase that pace over time. It is very important that we practice these exercises whenever there is tension in the face, neck, or scalp. Also, it is beneficial to do the practice after makeup removal, since the skin will be more receptive to the cosmetic treatment at night.
Another piece of advice is to stand in front of the mirror to perform these movements. This way you will see the symmetry of the two parts of the face.
Exercise for lip wrinkles
Pronounce the vowels a, e, i, o, u 10 times out loud, stretching your mouth as far as possible. Repeat daily in the morning and at night.
Exercise to tone the skin
Close your mouth and bring your tongue to the right and left and vice versa. Then, do it with the mouth open and add a new movement: move the tongue up and down.
Exercise for forehead wrinkles
In this exercise, place your fingertips on your eyebrows and move them up and down about 15 times without removing your fingers from the area (you can increase the number of repetitions up to 50). This exercise can also help us reduce crow's feet.
Exercise to firm the neck
Pronounce the letter X 10 times in an exaggerated way every night, after applying the serum and cream. As you do so, you contract your muscles exaggeratedly.
Exercise for a double chin or double chin
Raise your chin and place your hand under your jaw muscles, stretching forward and up. You can also try opening your mouth gently in this same position. Hold on for a few seconds and then relax.
