Shea butter is a super versatile skincare and hair care product that can be easily found and stored, also it is fairly inexpensive, but it can provide lots of benefits for your hair.

Shea butter is extracted from the nuts of the Karite tree. Most of the shea butter comes from Africa as the tree is native to West Africa. I can be found in several skincare products and hair products as well. One of the advantages of shea butter is that is high in fatty acids which strengthen your skin barrier and it can also hydrate your hair without leaving an oily layer on your strands

  1. Use a double boiler or your microwave to melt the shea butter and coconut oil.
  2. Once the ingredients are liquid, blend well, and add the castor oil.
  3. Le the mixture cool before using it.
  4. Apply it to your roots and work your way down to the ends of your hair, take your time to massage your scalp to allow the butter to penetrate your skin and give your follicles all the nutrients they deserve.
  5. Let the mixture sit for about 20 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. It is ok to leave a little of the product on, it works as a leave-in conditioner. Just make sure to cleanse your scalp well.
