If you change a little bit the way you take care of your makeup bag, you will be able to anticipate the mess and prevent it from happening you can follow some tips.
Let’s accept it, makeup bags are usually really messy. Foundations sometimes leak, eyeshadow pans get broken, and powders leave residue on every surface they touch. This is how to organize it!
1. Secure your brushes in a plastic bag
Don’t forget to regularly wash your brushes to avoid any skin issues, but if you are in a hurry and you are going to toss your brushes in your makeup bag, the powder in your brushes will stain everything inside. Instead, make sure you place your brushes in a Ziploc bag.
2. Use tape to seal what might open
To prevent waste and mess, basically, assess which products are more likely to lose their cap and seal them. Make sure you secure any oils and powder palettes.
3. Clean your bag regularly
Plastic can be easily wiped off with a washcloth and soap, but if that does not work, you can use a makeup remover and a cotton swab. Cloth bags can easily be washed in a machine, and if they are leather on the outside, you can turn them inside-out to clean the lining.
4. Use travel-sized products
You don’t need to buy travel-sized products, you can make your own! Reuse shampoo bottles from hotels, wash out a serum bottle and give them a second life! This will ensure the products will fit your makeup bag and prevent the zipper from breaking or products from spilling.
