Drugstore makeup that can surprise you and how to build a starter kit

If there is something I’ve learned all these years as a beauty blogger is not to buy products only because of their brand. I absolutely love luxury brands but I also own some drugstore makeup that I use daily and love! I’ll share here my favorite products to build your starter kit!

Unless you are an old makeup lover like me, there is no need to spend loads of money on high-end brands on a shopping spree –wait! Test what feels right for you, what products you will be using, and only then invest in more expensive brands. For example, I’m not particularly fond of full coverage foundations, and I discovered that with time –one day I decided that they didn’t look very well on me. So, here I will tell your how to build a “capsule makeup kit” with drugstore makeup.

Primer: e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer

It is hydrating and soft and provides a smooth and flawless finish –I swear it blurs all my pores and it’s a perfect base for your foundation. Apply first your favorite moisturizer and sunscreen.

Foundation option 1: Maybelline BB Cream

It is lightweight and it works amazing for all skin types and it comes in 5 different shades –I absolutely love it!

If you feel like you need full coverage, you should definitely try this one. There is one for oily or mixed skin and the other for normal to dry skin. It offers a great natural finish and it is definitely longwear.

Canceler: Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser

Ok, this one is my number one concealer –I wear it every day! It is lightweight, it stays put and covers my dark circles perfectly. It does tend to crease at the end of the day, but I can definitely deal with that.

Bronzer/contour, blush and highlighter: Maybelline Facestudio Master Contour Face

This is a four in perfect palette, in fact, as I’m not crazy about eyeshadows, I like to use the bronzer as a natural eyeshadow. The powders are pigmented; the highlighter has an amazing illuminating effect. I totally recommend it!

I have tried many mascaras, waterproof, expensive, inexpensive, different wands –you name it. But this one is definitely my favorite! It provides definition, volume, pigment and it makes my lashes look like falsies!

I hope you have liked my article! This is not sponsored, it’s my honest review of products I have tried and liked!
