You can use olive oil for hair that's super-smooth and hydrated. Here's how to blend everyday ingredients to whip up a spa-worthy hair mask.
Give your hair a healthy glow! If your hair is looking dull and lifeless in general, it may be high time you applied some hydrating mask. It is not necessary to overspend on cosmetic products because you can get a smooth and shiny mane without going to the store. Here we explain how to make a mask with 5 main kitchen ingredients that will soften and moisturize your hair: honey, eggs, coconut, and olive oil.
The benefits:
- Coconut oil: it moisturizes dry hair, adds shine and softness to the hair, and prevents hair breakage and split ends, contributing to hair length.
- Olive oil: it moisturizes your hair and reduces scalp irritation.
- Egg whites: they can be used for giving a nutritional boost to the follicles and the roots.
- Honey: it has both emollient and humectant properties, making it a great hair moisturizer.
DIY hair mask with elements at home
Ingredients:
- 3 soft-gel vitamin E capsules -this is the only element you need to get at a store, if you can't find it, don't worry, you can skip it.
- 1 Tbsp. coconut oil
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tsp. honey
- 1 egg white
Step 1: Mix and Microwave
Break open vitamin E capsules. Some brands will twist open, while others may need to be broken with a small knife. Place the contents of the capsules into a small, microwave-safe bowl. Add coconut oil, olive oil, and honey. Microwave on high for 15-20 seconds, then stir until the coconut oil completely melts.
Step 2: Add Egg White
Let the mixture cool for a minute or two, then add the egg white. Stir gently until all of the ingredients are well-combined.
Step 3: Apply to Hair
If desired, put on a pair of rubber gloves for this step. Then, apply the mixture to the ends of hair strands, and massage gently. Be careful not to apply the mixture directly on your scalp—especially if you have sensitive skin.
Step 4: Wrap it Up
Wrap your hair in a warm towel. Keep the towel on for 30 minutes to an hour. During this time, your hair may stiffen, but don’t worry, it’s a normal part of the process.
Step 5: Wash well
Remove the towel and step into the shower or bath. Rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water until all of the mixtures have been washed away. Shampoo and condition hair as normal.
Step 6: Make it a Routine
For best results, apply the treatment to your hair once every week or two. (You don’t want to use olive oil for hair too often, or your hair will become oily.) Since the mixture contains egg white, discard any excess immediately after use. Make a fresh batch for every treatment.
This mask will help return the shine to damaged and dry hair, leaving it smooth and silky.
