Anya Taylor-Joy is a famous young actress known for performing some characters such as Thomasin in The Witch and Casey in Split but one of her most important roles was Beth Harmon for “The Queen’s Gambit,” considered a Netflix’s record-breaking series.

In an interview, Anya talked about this year and how the pandemic impacted her career and her personal life. “I can never be grateful for the pandemic, but I’m grateful for the space it afforded me,” she explained. “I’ve been working back-to-back my entire career. That’s been wonderful, and I wouldn’t change anything about it, but it’s also meant that I haven’t had time to digest what I’ve been through... Now, I feel more grounded in myself and what I’ve been doing for the past six years.”

Here are some facts about her beauty and skincare routine

1. The skincare secret from "The Queen’s Gambit"

Being in a movie means having makeup all the time and for that task, there are always makeup artists. Her makeup artist for the series was Daniel Parker who showed her some secrets for taking care of the skin before jumping into makeup.

“[Daniel] is a huge proponent of witch hazel. The first thing he did on my skin as I was playing Beth is that he would always prep my skin with witch hazel. I love that you can find that in any pharmacy—it’s so accessible and really does wonders for your skin. It really is such a good way to wake up the skin without it being too aggressive."
