People seem to think your need a big reason to start therapy, but is that so? Why would anyone start therapy?
While a lot of people go to therapy because of a life crisis, this shouldn’t be so. There are several valid reasons why you can start therapy. You might seek therapy simply because you feel you need a little extra help to help you understand yourself better, work in areas that you find difficult, and improve your abilities to cope with stressful situations –and what stresses a person can vary from person to person. In fact, going to therapy before a crisis occurs, offers you the possibility of having more tools to manage a crisis.
Especially after the pandemic, the chances are that you will benefit from therapy. While life seems to start becoming a bit more normal it is normal to feel confused, scared or uncertain about your future and therapy will help your cope with those feelings.
Therapy is not something you should be ashamed of; it is actually one of the smartest things you can do. Think of it as one tool more to practice self-care and self-love.
