With more than 5,000 years of existence, Ayurveda is a wonderful discipline to improve our lifestyle and keep us balanced. These 5 habits will change your life
Ayurveda helps us to be in harmony, feel healthy, and improve our lifestyle. These 5 habits are in line with the energies involved in the physiological, biological, and psychological functions of the body.
1.- Start the day with sweetness as a lifestyle Ayurveda
Get up an hour earlier than usual, drink water (warm and adding juice or natural lemon peel), breath deeply, and stretch. Meditate for several minutes or take a short walk, paying full attention to the surroundings, without stress or rush.
2.- Oil pulling in fasting
It consists of rinsing or retaining a tablespoon of coconut oil, sesame, sunflower, or other oils with herbs and keeping it moving in the mouth for a few minutes. At the end of the rinsing, you should not swallow the oil, then proceed to brush your teeth. This habit cleans the teeth and prevents diseases from bacteria and viruses.
3.- Lingual scraping
It is done on an empty stomach with a U-shaped metal device. Its objective is to take care of the health of the mouth and stomach and reduce the presence of toxins on the tongue. The scraper is placed in the deepest part of the tongue and then gentle pressure is applied towards the tip to remove the whitish layers. The procedure is repeated 5 to 10 times and then the mouth is rinsed with warm water.
4.- Light breakfast
Ayurveda recommends having the first meal one hour after waking up. You can include small or medium servings of fruit, multigrain sourdough bread, or cereals. Meals must be fresh and cooked.
5.- Ayurvedic massage
It can be applied by the person himself, or by a masseur or certified specialists, such as the routines and recommendations learned in an Ayurveda Coach diploma.
These five recommendations seek to more effectively balance the physical and emotional state with full attention to the requirements of the different constitutions.
