Nutritional yeast is well known among vegans as it works as a substitute for grated cheese, but did you know that it is a superfood loaded with proteins and amino acids? We give you five good reasons to including it on your daily diet!
What is nutritional yeast?
It is a cellular microorganism that when it feeds on sugar and gets fermented produces vitamins and amino acids that can give us many benefits. As it is intended for human consumption, other vitamins and proteins such as b12 are often added to it. You can find them in powder version, granulated flakes, or even pills. It differs from brewer's yeast because it is inactive, and during its manufacturing process, it is dried and pasteurized.
