Tricks to lighten your hair naturally at home (and not damage it in the attempt)

If this summer you want to wear a lighter tone than usual, it is not necessary to dye your hair. You can take notes and use some of these tricks and do it yourself at home!

Fall is a season of change and hair is one of the easiest things we can quickly modify in our appearance.

So today we are going to help you lighten your hair. Of course, without damaging it

Tricks to lighten hair in summer at home (and not damage it in the attempt)

Of course, we must bear in mind that these are home remedies and not hairdressing dyes, so we cannot expect to get a platinum blonde only with them. Of course, if you follow our advice and apply it regularly, you will be able to illuminate your hair easily and naturally. Ah! And if your hair is dyed, it is best to avoid adding more products and always check with your hairdresser.

1. Chamomile:

Chamomile (also known as chamomile) is an excellent ally for lightening your hair. And not only that, but it also provides phosphorus, potassium and vitamin E.

How to use it?

In tea form: boil chamomile (either the original flower or a teabag) in water. Let the result cool and store it in a diffuser or jar. When it is at room temperature, you can already apply it on your hair.

The best? Leave it between 30-45 minutes and rinse. In shampoo: if you don't want to buy one of those chamomile shampoos that they sell in supermarkets, you can also make yours at home.

Of course, we warn you that the result will be less strong. How? Just add a dash of chamomile tea to your regular shampoo and voila! For a more powerful effect, let it rest for a few minutes before rinsing.

But remember that the key to everything is always perseverance and not abuse of it. So not by adding more infusion or shampoo you will be blonde instantly.

Our advice? Use the chamomile infusion about three times a week at most.

2. Lemon:

Lemon juice helps lighten hair, but it is used more for golden highlights than for a uniform blonde.

Why? Because we are going to use it as a spray, so it is easier to apply it on the strands that you prefer. How to use it? The first thing is to squeeze the lemons to get the juice.

The number of lemons will depend on the amount you want to make, but we recommend about three or four. Once squeezed, mix with water (but without overdoing it) and store in a spray diffuser. And you are ready to go!

To improve effectiveness, stay in the sun for at least half an hour after applying the product.

Our advice is that you use it at least every two days.

3. Honey:

Honey will no longer be just your favorite dressing in cereals and yogurts, but it will become one of your great allies to lighten your hair. And it is that it not only illuminates but really clarifies the color.

How to use it?

This formula is the simplest: we have to mix half a cup of honey (about two or three large tablespoons) with a whole cup of the conditioner that you normally use. Mix well (if it looks too dry you can add a dash of olive oil) and apply as normal.

Leave for at least 20 minutes. The trick to having a greater effect? Putting on a shower cap while you wait, to enhance effectiveness.

We recommend using it about three to four times a week.

4. Apple cider vinegar

Well, maybe taking a teaspoon a day will not cure that back pain as they told you. But what it CAN do for you is help you get lighter hair.

Apple vinegar

How to use it?

We will use it as a kind of 'mask'. Although we could apply it directly, to prevent the smell from getting too much in our hair, it is best to dilute it with water.

We will mix a quarter cup of vinegar with three-quarters of water very well. Once the mixture is ready, we apply it to our DRY hair. Let it sit for at least an hour and rinse.

We recommend doing this at most three times a week (although two would be ideal).

5. Beer:

Yes, you read that right: beer. We can take advantage of the beer to lighten our hair. Of course: ALWAYS ALCOHOL-FREE so as not to damage our hair. Because alcohol is abrasive.

How to use it?

It is as easy as applying the beer directly to our hair, giving a small massage as if we were applying a mask or conditioner. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse well.

The recommended frequency is twice a week.
