One of the yummiest thing to have is a sourdough toast. With many bakeries closed, it’s time to learn to make your own. Learn how to make a starter with our guide and then follow the recipe below for a perfect loaf.

Remember to Pre-heat the oven to 230 C
1-Mix the flour, starter and 250ml water in a big bowl. Add the sugar and salt.
2- Knead for 10 minutes
3- Place the resulting dough in an oiled bowl and cover with a tea towel. Leave to prove for 2 hours.
4- Portion the dough into two loafs. Flour generously and place each loaf in a bowl lined with a floured tea-towel. Prove for further 2 1/2 hours.
5-Pre-heat the oven to 230C or 210C Fan. Place a bowl of water (cold or with ice cubes) into a baking tin and in the bottom of the oven to create steam.
6-Turn the loaves out onto a baking tray. Using a knife, make a shallow cut on top of each loaf.
7-Bake for 40 minutes or until a good crust has formed. The loaves should sound hollow when tapped on the base.
