Take a saucepan and add the lentils with ½ liter water to boil over medium-high heat. Start reducing the heat and cover the pan for about 15 minutes. Then add the already rinsed lentils with their cooking water to the onions and carrots. Season it with salt and pepper and cover it again for 15 minutes. After that, uncover the pan, raise the heat slightly until the excess liquid is completely evaporated. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let cool.
