How to make the most out of your lipstick with these simple tips

Did you know that one lipstick can be used to create multiple looks? You do now. Learn how to make the most out of your lipstick with these simple tricks.

Lipstick is one of those products that can completely transform a look. No wonder Parisian women use red lipsticks, and barely any other makeup. No matter what color you love most, these tips and tricks will help you make the most out of your lipstick.

1. Prep your lips first

Make sure your lips are in their best condition. Some lipsticks may only highlight any cracks and dry bits, so apply your favorite lip balm and wait for it to absorb and moisturize your lips before applying your lipstick. Make sure you use a scrub every once in a while as well.

2. Use it as a stain

This is particularly true if you have a dark-colored lipstick. Use it as a light stain to get a completely different look. The more layers you add on, the more looks you can create. Even the darkest of lipsticks can be wearable on a daily basis if used as a stain. Top tip? Apply it with a fluffy brush.

3. Make it last longer

Using lip pencil all over your lips as a base for lipstick will make it last much longer!

Another trick is blotting your lips with a tissue or blotting paper. Do this very lightly and you will create a sort of stain on your lips that won't go away with the first coffee of the day.

4. Mix colours

Mix colors to create your own unique shade! Use a brush to apply lipstick and mix it with others so that you don't transfer colors between bullets. You can also do lip contour by using darker shades in the corners and lighter one in the middle. When you do this, make sure to even and blend it out so that it looks more natural.

5. Use lipstick as blush

Love that shade? Use your lipstick as a blush, you won't find a better match! Just warn a tiny bit between your fingers and tap lightly into the apples of your cheeks. Ta-da!

One lipstick, many ways to wear it
