Easy vegan-friendly chocolate lava cake

Lava cake is a sponge cake that, when broken, causes an eruption of melted chocolate from the inside. It is irresistible and delicious. It was introduced by a French chef, Michel Bras.

In French it's called "coulant", from the verb "couler", which means fluid or, melted. In Italy, it is known as soffiato. Other countries are more inventive and call it chocolate volcano.

Eventually, the name is secondary, what matters is that chocolate lava cake is an amazing dessert!
