In collaboration with ThreadTM, , Timberland reclaims plastic bottles collected on the streets and in the canals of Haiti. Bottles are recycles into what Timberland claims to be “the most responsible fabric on the planet.” The result is a classic Timberland boot that is eco-friendly.

A Twsist to Converse’s classic Chuck Taylors. The iconic high tops and low tops are now made with 30-40% recycled manufacturing waste, mainly scraps from Converse’s own factory. Their soles are also made with recycled rubber.

As a response to a request from runners across the globe, Nike has developed Flyknit. The sneakers provides a barefoot sensation by replacing the standard materials with a so-called sock. The “sock” is made from plastic bottles retrieved from the ocean and landfill.
