Stevia is a natural sweetener that has no calories and an estimated glycemic load of zero, making it a great alternative to refined sugar.

Stevia leaves are 40 times sweeter than sugar and stevia powder can be up to 250 times sweeter so a little goes a long way.

It also facilitates digestion and counteracts fatigue and anxiety. Best part? You can grow it yourself!

2. 2. Honey

Honey is a natural sweetener

Honey is a natural sweetener but it does have high levels of monosaccharides, fructose and glucose, which makes it a very high-energy food. It’s a decent source of vitamin C, B vitamins, and antioxidants. Many people consume local honey to prevent hay fever, although studies are limited.  Honey is very useful as an antiseptic, laxative and diuretic.

A teaspoon in you lemon and ginger tea will taste divine.

Coconut sugar has more nutrients than refined sugar, as it contains small amounts of iron, zinc, calcium and potassium. Its high fiber content causes blood sugar to rise slower than refined sugar.
